SOLD OUT!

Hello! We've sold out as of April 20th and are at the max capacity allowed at Tetherow Resort. Please text me at 503-403-8548 and I'll take your information for next year's event to provide early notice when registration will open up.

Race Day Details

Everything you need to know to make race day smooth and fun for your little triathlete.

Parking & Check-In

Parking will be in the Tetherow employee lot off Solomon Dr. There will be signs and volunteers directing you. Please use the gated entrance at Meeks Trail — not the main entrance into the resort, as most of that area will be closed for the event.

Check-in opens at 8:45am and closes at 9:45am sharp. For those who did not pick up their packet in advance, head to the check-in tent located in front of the finish line. Once you have your packet, make your way to the bike racks, set up right outside the pool area. Park your bike and helmet in your designated age group area — volunteers will be there to help!

Swim

Once your bike is parked, head to the pool deck and find the staging area for your age group. You'll want a towel to dry off after your swim, your shoes, and a change of clothes (though some kids don't mind biking in a swimsuit — totally up to you!). We'll have a handful of pop-up changing tents available, but please don't put anything in them until you need them.

New this year: Last year's race start was overwhelming for a lot of our smaller competitors, so this year the smallest kiddos go first. Once the last 3–5 year olds are off the pool deck, the 9–11 year olds go next, followed by the 6–8 year olds. There will be a designated waiting spot for racers (and their grown-up) and a separate spot for spectators to keep things safe and streamlined.

  • Heat 1: Ages 3–5 1 lap
  • Heat 2: Ages 9–11 2 laps
  • Heat 3: Ages 6–8 2 laps

Important: If your child cannot swim the full length of the pool independently, they must wear a lifejacket or puddle jumpers. We will have adult volunteers in the water, but you are responsible for your child's safety. You are also welcome to swim alongside your child.

Bike

After your swim, run to your spot and gear up — helmet and shoes are required before you get on your bike, no exceptions!

Ages 3–5: A short, fun loop around Tetherow designed just for little legs. The older kids will be on a completely separate course so there's no overlap.

Ages 6–11: Follow arrows and volunteers north out of the parking lot and onto the paved trail. Over 15 volunteers will be stationed at every intersection and turn to keep kids safe and on course. The route finishes back at the bike racks — park your bike, remove your helmet, and head to the run course.

Run

The run course is the same for all kids. Ages 6–11 can collect popsicle sticks at the end of each loop to help them keep track of how many they've completed.

  • Ages 3–5 1 loop
  • Ages 6–8 2 loops
  • Ages 9–11 4 loops

Finish strong through the chute and under the finish line arch! Once you cross that finish line, you'll collect your trophy and bragging rights for life!

After Race Celebration

Every racer gets an engraved trophy and DFT swag to pick up right after they cross the finish line. We'll also have a podium set up for photos — strike your best champion pose!

The café at the pool will be open and stocked with Bonta popsicles — one free for each racer — plus additional food available for purchase. Hang out, cheer on the other athletes, and celebrate your incredible triathlete!
